Object Description: Sun pillars are formed from ice crystals in the clouds.

One might ask why this image has been included in this collection of astroimages. I myself wonder why as well, but who am I to question the arbiters of astroimaging standards, Drs. Bonnell and Nemiroff, the masters of the popular APOD website? They frequently post atmospheric images as Astronomy Picture Of the Day. Doesn't meet my definition of astronomy, but hey, I am justified in posting a cool picture as an astroimage <g>.
