IC59-63 in Cassiopeia

Object Description: These two dim emission nebula, IC59 at top center and IC63 to its' left, are being ionized by the fiercely bright blue star Gamma Cassiopeia, a type B0IV star. The energetic winds from the star are sculpting the hydrogen gas and dust in these nebulae into "ghostly" apparitions. The image is oriented North up.

Sky Conditions: transparency 2/5, seeing averaged 2.17 arcseconds for the night.
Image Acquisition: 30x300s, iso800 using CCDCommander & CCDSoft

Image Processing: ImagesPlus 3.80 used for data reduction, alignment, SigMed combine, initial DDP. PSCS2 used for levels, curves, and color enhancement. GradX for background equalization.
