Thursday night, home from work. I removed the template and installed the pier. I leveled it very easily and locked it down tight. This thing is as solid as stone. I hit the side of the pier with the heel of my palm and saw no response in the bubble on the level. Time will tell how vibration free it is, but it sure feels rock steady. I took the picture on Friday morning. |

Saturday and a cold, drizzly, bone-penetrating day. If I wasn't so happy, I would rethink the decision to start this project in January. The day was spent squaring and leveling the joists. We also installed the joist frame for the observatory building. Tomorrow we'll start screwing the deckboards in place and finish the joists for the building. |

Things went pretty slow today, slower than we thought it would go. Screwing deckboards into place isn't easy. Got ¾ done with the deck and leveled up the inner joist system for the actual building. But I think at this point we're only one day behind our original schedule, not bad at all. Let's see how it goes next weekend |
